Welcome to the Early Childhood Education Department!

Early Childhood Education is designed to provide students instruction in early childhood education. Through lecture, reflection, and hands-on experience, the student will develop an understanding of the development of children, importance of play in the growth of young children and how teachers make connections to support the continued growth and development of children. In addition to classroom instruction, students will participate in an internship in pre-kindergarten classrooms at the pre-k star classrooms and other childcare centers throughout the community to apply classroom instruction to real life experiences. In addition to technical skills, course content will reflect the integration of academic and work place skills.
