PPS High School Classes of 2020 and beyond will need 24.001 credits to graduate.
Classification is listed below: In order to be considered and labeled in Skyward as:
10th grade - needs to have at least 6 credits
11th grade - needs to have at least 12 credits
12th grade - needs to have at least 18 credits
Graduation Requirements
State and District Requirements
English - 4 units of credit
(4 years - 8 semesters)
Science - 2 units of credit
(2 years - 4 semesters)
Mathematics - 3 units of credit
(3 years- 1 year Algebra and 1 year Geometry content - 6 semesters)
U.S. History 1 unit of credit
(1 year - 2 semesters)
Economics - (1) ½ unit of credit
(1 semester)
American Government - (1) ½ unit of credit
(1 semester)
Social Studies - Elective 1 unit of credit
(1 year - 2 semesters)
Physical Education (includes Driver Ed. and Health Ed.) - 2 units of credit
(2 years - 3 semesters PE and 1 semester Health Ed.)
Fine Arts or Foreign Language (3) or Applied Technology (4) - 1 unit of credit
(1 year - 2 semesters)
Computer Literacy - 1 unit of credit
(1 year - 2 semesters)
General Electives - 8 units of credit
4 year state college/university entrance requirement
Four years of English emphasizing written and oral communication and literature;
Three years of social studies emphasizing history and government;
Three years of mathematics, including introductory through advanced algebra,
geometry and trigonometry or fundamentals of computer programming;
Three years of laboratory sciences (biology, chemistry, physics, or
anatomy/physiology); and
Two years of electives in *foreign languages or philosophy-type learning
