Course Description:

THIS COURSE INCLUDES PLANNING LEARNING EXPERIENCES THAT DEVELOP INITIAL AND BASIC SKILLS USED IN SYSTEMATICALLY COMPUTING, CLASSIFYING, RECORDING, VERIFYING AND MAINTAINING NUMERICAL DATA INVOLVED IN FINANCIAL AND PRODUCT CONTROL RECORDS INCLUDING PAYING AND RECEIVING OF MONEY.

 

PERSONAL FINANCE 

 

Course Description:

OVERVIEW OF ALL ASPECTS OF PERSONAL FINANCE, INCLUDING THE CONCEPTS, FUNCTIONS, AND SKILLS REQUIRED FOR MEETING THE CHALLENGES OF PERSONAL DECISION MAKING, FINANCIAL GOALS, CAREER PLANNING, MONEY MANAGEMENT STRATEGIES, CONSUMER PURCHASING, BANKING, CREDIT, HOUSING, SAVING AND INVESTING, TAXES, AND INSURANCE.

 

SOFTWARE APPLICATIONS

Is a one semester orientation level course designed for all students to continue to develop an awareness and understanding of the application of electronic information processing concepts, software and equipment. Students will be given the opportunity to view a variety of software applications and will have frequent hands-on experience. Instruction will be given in the use of word processing, windows XP operating systems, spreadsheets, database management, business graphic and communications. Instruction should also focus on ethical considerations. Computer simulations of situations faced by individuals in a variety of occupations will be used. In addition to technical skills, course content will reflect integration of academic and workplace skills.

 

BUSINESS TECHNOLOGY

 

Course Description:

OVERVIEW OF ALL ASPECTS OF BUSINESS MARKETING AND MANAGEMENT, INCLUDING THE CONCEPTS, FUNCTIONS, AND SKILLS REQUIRED FOR MEETING THE CHALLENGES OF OPERATING A BUSINESS INA GLOBAL ECONOMY.
