2022-23 D2 Program

Our district is pleased to announce an opportunity for juniors to pursue dual enrollment at ICC and Peoria Public Schools. Please see the attachment for further information. Application packet due March 14, 2022.

Dear Parents,

We would like to make you aware of an opportunity that helps students earn their high school diploma while earning their Associate Degree at Illinois Central College (ICC).

The Diploma-Degree Program (D2) is now entering its fourth cohort with the Fall of 2022.  At this time, eighteen students have graduated with their high school diploma and Associate Degree allowing most to go to college with junior status.  Students who are interested in this program apply during their second semester of sophomore year.  We now offer Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degrees.

To make this possible, the district pays for ICC tuition between $9,300 for 60 credits and $9,765 for 63 credits as long as students work hard to maintain A’s, B’s, or an occasional C in classes.  The student is responsible for cost of textbooks per semester, as well as district, and ICC semester fees.  This advanced program of study has support from a high school counselor meeting weekly with the cohort of students as well as academic tutoring available through ICC.  Students and families should understand that dedication and commitment are required to complete this program.  It should also be noted that at this time, ICC still holds many classes online.  Please take this into consideration when applying for this program.  Students will be able to use a district issued laptop for classes.

Please see the attached brochure for more information.  Parent meetings have already been held. Please reach out to Sheri Lamie if you have additional questions.

TRIO Upward Bound

I wanted to share with you all that TRIO Upward Bound will be having an in-person Open House for prospective new students and their parents/guardians at the ICC Peoria Campus (Arbor Hall 112 - 2nd Floor) this Monday, February 28th, 4-5pm.  We are encouraging RSVP's but it is not required.  See attached!

If you ever have a student that is interested in applying, they can apply online anytime.

If you have the opportunity to share about the Open House in your schools Sunday announcements or other in-house opportunities - we would appreciate it!
