WYSE 2018 TEAM

The 2018 Team after placing 2nd at regionals!

Welcome to the Richwood's WYSE team website!

What is WYSE?

WYSE (Worldwide Youth in Science and Engineering) is an academic competition between the best studens from schools in Illinois and Missouri. We will assemble a group of our best students (28 for regionals, 14 for sectionals & state), with each student testing in two of the following categories: biology, chemistry, computer science, engineering graphics, english, math & physics. We'll first test in February (regionals), with the top two schools having the highest team score advancing to sectionals (March) and state (April). Richwoods has historically done very well in this competition, with our school advancing to sectionals and state 4 of the past 5 years!

How to I Join?

Students interested in joining the WYSE team can try-out after school between Dec. 2-11th. You can pick up practice tests (with answers) the week before Thanksgiving Break in any category - just stop by Room 402. You can take a try-out test in as many categories as you want, so take a bunch to ensure you have the best chance of making the team!

Please Note

As of 2019 WYSE will be officially known as "Academic Challenge" and hosted by Eastern Illinois University. The University of Illinois stopped sponsoring WYSE at the end of the 2018 season, though has retained the exclusive rights to use the WYSE name.
