Model United Nations (MUN)

Club/Group/Activity Description

Club, Group, or Activity:
Model United Nations (MUN)

Sponsor:
Mrs. Elizabeth Theodoropoulos

Meeting Time:
Mondays 2:00 – 2:45

Place:
RHS – Room 413

Purpose:
Model United Nations, also known as Model UN or MUN, is an extra-curricular activity in which students typically roleplay delegates to the United Nations and simulate UN committees. This involves developing substantial researching, public speaking, debating, and writing skills, as well as critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership abilities.

Description:
We will meet weekly to practice and prepare for conferences.

MUN conferences will be online and in person, which is usually organized by a high school or college MUN club. At the end of most conferences, outstanding delegates in each committee are recognized and given an award certificate; the Best Delegate in each committee, however, receives a gavel.

Students will get to meet thousands of middle school, high school, and college students across the country and around the world who participate in Model United Nations.

We will have a end of the year banquet honoring students hard work.
