The Freedom School, an after-school program focused on promoting in-depth learning of African American and Hispanic history, serves over 100 students at Manual High School and Glen Oak CLC. During spring break, 47 of these students from grades 5th to 8th visited Washington D.C.! They participated in an 8-stop tour, visiting the White House, the African American Museum, and national monuments. Additionally, they stopped at the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center in Cincinnati, Ohio, on their way back to Peoria.
