Paris McConnell has worked in Public Relations and Civic Engagement for over 18 years and is currently employed as the External Affairs Manager for the Southern Regional for Office of Lieutenant Governor Juliana Stratton.

Previously, as a consultant in the private sector and with the Illinois Department of Transportation Peoria District Four. She is an active member of New Cornerstone Baptist Church, Central Illinois Baptist District Association and Baptist General State Convention of Illinois.

Paris is passionate about community service and has volunteered as a mentor for Peoria Public Schools in various leadership roles- PTO President at Whittier Primary and Peoria High, Superintendent Advisory, PTO Council, and mentoring middle and high school students for over 20 years.

She was elected to serve as a Board Member of Peoria Public Schools in 2022 and co-chairs the Board Policy Committee.

Additional Community Service: Board of Directors for American Red Cross, CASA Peoria County Board, Chairman of Peoria Hi-way Credit Union (employee credit union for IDOT), Center for Prevention of Abuse-Safe to Live Commission, Juvenile Justice Council of Peoria, Tri-County Health Advisory Council, Peoria County Election Commission Affidavit and Precinct Coordinating Judge.

Mrs. McConnell is married to Dr. Mark McConnell and has been for 33 years. From this marriage came 3 sons and 2 grandsons. She enjoys traveling, and sports, especially watching NFL football, college football, and basketball. She attended Kansas University and is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. As a native of Kansas City, Missouri- Mrs. McConnell is a very proud Jayhawk and KC Chiefs fan!

She was elected to serve as a Board Member of Peoria Public Schools in 2022 and co-chairs the Board Policy Committee.

Dr. Gregory Wilson joined the Board of Education in 2017 following the April election for the open District 2 seat. His five-year term expires in 2027. 

Dr. Wilson has a child that attends Rolling Acres Middle School and two children that attend Glen Oak Community Learning Center. He currently obtained his Doctorate in Business Administration and Leadership. He holds a master's in business administration and a bachelor of science degree in Psychology. Mr. Wilson is the owner of SikFramez, LLC & LMMHM Consulting, LLC. Mr. Wilson is active in the community and is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., local chapter Kappa Pi Lambda and the YANI Collective. He serves as a board member for Product of the Project, Divine Intellect, and Peoria Area World Affairs Council. He volunteers for Junior Achievement, Richwoods JFL, and ELITE Youth Outreach.

Lynne Costic was appointed in 2019 to represent District 2 and was re-elected in 2020. Her term expires in 2025.

Mrs. Ross was appointed to the Peoria Public Schools District 150 Board of Education in 2001 prior to being elected to the Board from District 1 in 2003. District 1 is the only District that has one Board member. Mrs. Ross served three terms as Board President, from 2015 to 2018. She is a two-time graduate of Bradley University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Services and a Master’s Degree in Human Development Counseling. Mrs. Ross is the business owner of “The Bottom Line Design”, specializing in training, consulting, counseling and legal services. Mrs. Ross’s three children, as well as six of her grandchildren and eight of her great-grandchildren, attended and/or currently attend Peoria Public Schools. 

Mrs. Ross was appointed as a member of the Area Agency on Aging Council, elected as a member of the Illinois Alliance of Information & Referral State Wide Board of Directors where she served as President for two terms, Served as a Board Member for National Alliance of Information and Referral Systems base in Washington DC, current President of Goose Lake Neighborhood Association and the Southside Community United for Change Inc. SCUC,selected as one of the “25 Women In Leadership” in Peoria and received “Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drum Major Award for Education Leadership”.

Her passion is and has always been to help provide an educational environment that would meet the children and parents where they are and help to move them to where they need to be to become successful and self-sufficient in life.

Her five-year term will expire in 2028.

Christina Rose came to Peoria to attend Bradley University, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Education. After graduating, Mrs. Rose began teaching in Peoria, where she taught special education in various classrooms ranging from Kindergarten through 8th grade. She still enjoys running into former students.

Christina is married and has three living children who attend Peoria Public Schools. The Rose family have spent several years as a licensed foster family, creating safe spaces for kids while they waited to be reunited with their families.

Christina is an active member of the Charter Oak PTC. She is also a member of the Parent University Committee. As a teacher and parent, Mrs. Rose understands how important parents are to the success of their students and is eager to work with them.

Mrs. Rose and her family reside in the Lynnhurst Neighborhood, where Mrs. Rose served as an executive officer for the past seven years and still chairs the welcoming committee.

Christina’s dedication to education and community service makes her a valuable member of the Peoria community.

Mrs. Chanel Hargrave-Murry

Chanel Hargrave-Murry, the current Supervisor of Community connections with the Peoria Park District, was appointed to the school Board in July of 2024, representing District 3.  Murry has a Child who attends Richwoods High School. Murry has a bachelor's in Business Operations with a minor in marketing.

Murry is the Co-Owner of Peoria Fashion Week alongside her husband. She is also a very active member of the community as she sits on several boards, Heart of Illinois Fair Grounds as the current Treasurer, chairwoman for the Women in NAACP, Globalfest committee, as well as one of the lead organizers for the Fill the Fire Truck campaign with our Local Firefighters organization. Murry also volunteers with ELITE Youth Outreach and Peoria Grown among many other organizations. 

Murry has over 10 years of experience working with and within District 150 Schools from Running the afterschool programs at the Boys and Girls Clubs of Peoria to Launching Power Lunches throughout the school district assisting  hundreds of students with jobs as well as resources for their families.

Larry D. Ivory has an extensive background in international business, and currently serves as the President/CEO of the Illinois State Black Chamber of Commerce, the preeminent Black trade organization in the state. The chamber’s mission includes advocating, education, networking, and mentoring for African American businesses.

Larry’s upbringing in faith and community, as the son of Pastor Jeffrey and Gladys Ivory, shaped his commitment to education and youth. He remains connected to the Peoria District 150 school system as an alumnus of Manual High School where he was a student athlete in basketball and boxing. His dedication to education extends beyond his own experience; he actively supports his children, grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and extended family who attend or have attended District 150 schools. Larry’s volunteer work includes mentoring and student advocacy and his passion for education led him to serve on the School Districts’ Board.

His community involvement extends to other boards including as the Chairman and a founding Board member of the National Black Chamber of Commerce, the largest Black business association globally, headquartered in Washington, D.C. In addition, he serves on the Peoria Housing Authority’s Board, the city of Peoria’s Minority Procurement Committee, the state of Illinois’ Procurement Policy Board, and the Illinois Tollway Stakeholder Advisory Team. Larry also serves as an Ambassador to Wind Creek Hospitality.

Larry has been married to Janis Ivory for 25 years and is a proud father and grandfather. Two of his grandchildren attend Dr. C. T. Vivian Primary School.
