This letter is to inform you that we have students in our school that have a life-threatening food allergy. The students have allergies to Peanuts/Tree Nuts. These foods, even in trace amounts, may cause a severe reaction (anaphylaxis) that can lead to death. Even touching contaminated surfaces may cause a reaction.
STERLING IS A PEANUT AND TREE NUT FREE BUILDING THIS YEAR.
Please do not send any birthday or class treats without first having it approved by your student’s homeroom teacher and absolutely no peanut or tree nut items may be sent to school for treats.
Any students who do wish to bring peanut or tree nut food items for lunch will need to eat in the front office and wash their hands before returning to join their class. The peanut and tree nut food items will be stored in the front office until it is their lunch time so please label their food or lunch box with their name.
