Illinois Report Card information for Northmoor

Dear Northmoor Community,

The Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) released our annual School Report Card on October 30 at www.illinoisreportcard.com.  The Report shows how well our school is progressing on a wide range of educational goals.  We are proud of our students’ growth of 10.6% in Language Art and 2.8% in Math. We also increased the number of students that are proficient and excellent by 6.8>#/p###

The progress reflects the investments we have made in the reading program Journeys and using our Title One tutors to work with the enriched students.

Our teachers, administrators, and staff, in partnership with you are continuing to focus on elevating the daily reading at home and rigorous writing initiatives.  Students will continue focusing on number sense and word problems in math.

One component of the School Report Card is the summative designation – a descriptor of how well our school is meeting the needs of all students. This designation is based on eight indicators of academic success and school quality.  Our designation of Commendable is the same as last year.  The state gives 4 designations Exemplary/Commendable/Underperforming/Lowest Performing.  We missed the top designation of Exemplary by 4 points and we hope to be the second school in Peoria Public Schools with this designation next year.

We welcome this opportunity to dive into our data and talk about additional improvements and investments we can make to support every student in reaching their goals.  Our school is strongest when we all work together, so we encourage you to give us your feedback.  I invite you to take the 5 Essential Survey and join us at a PTO meeting on November 4th to share your vision for Northmoor’s future.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Stockman,

Principal of Northmoor
