Welcome back to the 2023-2024 school year! I am very excited to write my first welcome-back letter and to be the new principal of Kellar Primary. I hope you had a restful and relaxing summer and are ready for a productive school year focused on educational excellence. My personal vision is to continue to build on Kellar’s foundation of academic excellence while making sure your students reach the high expectations and standards put in place.

As far as curriculum, there are no new changes for the 2023-24 school year. We will continue with our Journey’s curriculum for ELA and I-Ready for mathematics. Each K-2 teacher will be receiving a newly purchased phonics kit to assist students who are struggling with their phonics.

As the year progresses, there will be consistent communication with weekly classroom newsletters, automated phone messages with weekly updates, and monthly school newsletters. Please follow us on our KELLAR PTO, KELLAR PRIMARY, and Peoria Public Schools Facebook pages.

In addition, please make sure all contact information is updated in Skyward (phone number, email address, and home address) so we can be sure that you receive all school communications.

At Kellar, we take pride in our tradition of academic excellence!
