*Students are citizens of a school just as adults are citizens of our city, state and nation. Just as adults must obey the laws in order to have a good community, students must obey the rules in order to have a good school. Citizenship means membership. If you are a member of a group, you must be guided by its rules. You have some rights as a member, but you also have responsibilities. As a citizen of the United States, you have the right to a free education in the public schools; but you also have the responsibility to do your best to take advantage of this opportunity.A good school citizen obeys library rules so that the library can be used advantageously by everyone.  A good school citizen also is interested in the welfare of their school and is willing to do their part to make their school a good one." -from the Manual of Library Procedures.
