7th Math
Welcome to our class! I am Mrs. Welch and I teach 7th grade Math at Rolling Acres. This is my third year at Rolling Acres but my 13th year in the district. I am thrilled to be at Rolling Acres and looking forward to get to know you and your families. I have been married to an awesome, outdoorsy and adventurous husband for 17 years and we have two children of our own, David - in 8th grade, and Addison - in 5th grade. I love to read, nap, lay by the pool, and pretty much do anything except cleaning and laundry!
I am thrilled to be here and to be serving your family! This website will serve as a useful tool for you throughout the school year. On this website you will find classroom and school-wide expectations and procedures. Never hesitate to ask any questions or for additional resources. I am here to serve you any way I can.
This year we will be our third year using the math curriculum- enVision Mathematics. In addition to your students having workbooks (I know, Super Exciting!) all of their resources will be available online so they can access resources at home in case they are sick. This is a great resource that will offer great opportunities for differentiation, encrichment, langauge learners, and the ability to do some assignments online while others are still done on pen and paper! This will be our first year with 7th Grade Advanced Math so hold on to your seats, we are going to be moving!
In addition, MATH ASSIGNMENTS ARE PUT IN TEAMS. TEAMS IS UPDATED WITH ALL CLASS ASSIGNMENTS SO STUDENTS CAN BE ACTIVE IN THE CLASSROOM LEARNING ENVIRONMENT FROM ANYWHERE!
Almost all Classwork will be done together in class and/or during workshop time. Each student will have some differentiated IXL assignments that they are assigned Monday that are due that Friday. Each student will be given time in class to work on them but any of these activities not finished in class will be homework. This should be the only homework, in addition to studying for quizzes and tests, that your students bring home.
