Hello! Welcome to Miss Riebel's Classroom!
Welcome to senior English! Congratulations on getting to the finish line. In Senior English, I focus on the skills needed to transition to college or career. Most of the work this year will be around developing writing skills.
Dual Credit students are enrolled in ICC 110 and 111 to be able to earn 3 hours of college credit for each semester IF they pass the course with a C or better. Students enrolled in that course were given a detailed syllabus explaining the expectations held for ICC. They were also reminded that those two classes follow the grading dictates of ICC over PPS; therefore students will receive a 0 for missing work and there is no minimum grade. See that course tab for more details and a copy of the syllabus.
I am a 1987 graduate of Peoria High school and live within the Peoria High area so I am a long term lion. I completed my bachelors degree in English education and a master's in literacy at Illinois State University. I have a second master's degree in English Composition at Bradley which qualifies me to teach Dual Credit at the high school level and writing at the junior college level. I have been working with ICC staff the past two years to make sure that my expectations for Dual Credit meet the same level of standards held by ICC staff. I completed a semester long internship within an ICC English 110 / 095 class with the ICC Dept. Chair of English to align my grading expectations as well as my assignments.
Due to some outside demands on my time I am not always available after school hours but I generally reply to emails within 24 hours unless it is a weekend or holiday break.
If you or your student have any problems accessing assignments or getting items turned in to me PLEASE EMAIL ME AT TRACY.RIEBEL@PSD150.ORG. I want ALL my students to graduate so I will work with you to find a way to get work in.
In case of a E-learning day...
Dual Credit students MUST meet on-line with me and complete the normal task per the syllabus. Any work due normally will be due even if school is not in person.
Senior English - the choice board below will be assigned on teams.
