Peoria High School has a school-based health clinic! It is a miniature doctor’s office located at the front of the school next to the guidance counselor’s office. We are a non-for-profit department of UnityPoint. The clinic is run by a nurse practitioner and certified medical assistant.
Services are open to each student whose parent or guardian has completed a student health history form and a consent form. Students who are 18-years-old can sign themselves up for services. We are here primarily to serve students of Peoria High School, but we can see any student who attends Peoria District 150 Schools. We cannot provide services to adults at this time.
Services include:
Assessment, diagnosis and treatment of minor illness and injury
School and sports physicals
Immunizations
Reproductive services (condoms, pills, shots, implants, etc.)
Laboratory Testing (blood work, strep tests, pregnancy tests, STI tests, etc.)
Management and referrals for chronic illnesses such as asthma and diabetes
Individual and group health education
Services NOT available:
Treatment for complex medical or psychiatric disorders
Stitches or casting
X-rays
