Illinois Assessment of Readiness Logo

Beginning the week of March 3rd, our third and fourth-grade students will take the Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR). This state assessment measures students’ progress in English Language Arts and Math, helping us understand their growth and areas for improvement. While testing can sometimes feel overwhelming, there are many ways parents can support their children to ensure they feel confident and prepared.

To help your child do their best, we recommend ensuring they get a full night’s rest before each testing day. A good night’s sleep helps with focus, problem-solving, and overall test performance. Arriving at school on time is also important so students can start their day feeling relaxed and ready. All students receive a free breakfast at school each morning, so they will have the fuel they need to focus. Encouraging your child with positive words and reminding them to take their time and do their best can also make a big difference.

Thank you for your support in helping our students succeed! If you have any questions about IAR testing, please reach out to your child’s teacher or the school office.
