Our mission at HBD Middle School is to create a safe, nurturing environment for learning.  This environment will provide students from diverse backgrounds with a variety of learning styles.  It will allow students to reach their potential, physically, socially, emotionally, and intellectually.

All students will be afforded the opportunity to develop their unique talents through authentic life experiences and curriculum, which challenge them to think critically and creatively.  As a result of these efforts, our students will acquire the skills necessary to be life-long learners and pursue appropriate career pathways.

June 3, 2024

Dear Parents and Students:

Welcome to the 2024-2025school year! It is my honor to return to serve you as the Principal of HB Dawson! I look forward to rekindling old and building new relationships. I am very proud to work with such a tremendous team of educators, who support our students, families, and each other like a family. We are eager to continue to grow our students and build capacity in their abilities to be successful.  We are very excited to continue our partnership with Family Core, Jaycees, Horizon’s Club, and Destination Technology.

We will continue to grow our support systems for our students.  We have a social worker to provide social emotional support for our staff and students.  We will also continue to focus on individual learning plans, student learning targets and student lead engagement activities in the classroom.  Students will continue to develop their use of their data binder.  We continue our mission to close the achievement gap by preparing all students for college readiness and success in a global society.

We take pride in our tradition of building positive relationships within our Raider Family. For our students to receive the best educational opportunities possible, our staff, families and the community must work as a team. Do not hesitate to contact your child’s teacher if you have any questions or concerns. Open dialogue is very important as we work as a team with a common goal in mind: student success! Parents are also encouraged to get involved at HB Dawson.  Our PTO is working to involve parents in opportunities for social interactions with staff.
