Welcome! My name is Mrs. Forbes.  I have been teaching at Harold B Dawson since 1993!  This year I am teaching 6th grade English/Language Arts and have each class for a 80 minute block.  I am co-teaching some of my classes with Mr. Lewis, as well as focusing on Common Core Standards and student data to drive my instruction.  I am also implementing balance literacy lessons throughout my ELA block, so students are experiencing and learning reading, writing, speaking, and listening in many different ways.  We also have Individual Learning Time this year - during this time I will help your child with individual reading goals, and students will work on the reading programs IXL at their own levels!  I am so excited to see their growth.
