Hello Parents and Students! Welcome to Mrs. Gilles' Online Webpage!
Hello Families! I am the Special Education Inclusion Teacher working in Kindergarten with Mrs. Zombro and First Grade with Ms. Bernahl. I also pull bilingual students in Kindergarten and First Grade to work with them. I am excited to get to know all our new students and welcome back our returning students! It is exciting to be able to be back in person this year!! Do not be afraid to reach out if you have any questions throughout the school year!
A little bit about me:
I graduated in December of 2010 with my Bachelors in Special Education and endorsement in Early Childhood. I worked in Morton, IL for three years before coming to Peoria Public Schools in September of 2014. I am going into my 8th year of teaching. I have been at Glen Oak since September 2014. I have a 9 year old son in Fourth Grade, a 7 year old daughter in Second Grade, and a 2 1/2 year old daughter at home. We also have a boxer named Brownie who is 7. I love spending time outdoors playing with my kids and going to their sporting events, watching movies and sports, and being with my family and friends.
One of the things I absolutely love about my job is working with my students and helping them grow as individuals! They develop so much growth throughout the year(s). Feel free to contact me via email or phone with any questions or concerns with your child. I stay most days after school rather than coming in early to school due to getting my own children where they need to be in the mornings. Also, if you would like more ways/resources to help your child grow feel free to contact me.
I am looking forward to a great school year!
