Dear Parents and Students:

Welcome back to a great year at Dr. C.T. Vivian Primary School. We are very excited about the upcoming school year and hope that you are too. Our teachers and staff are anxious to start working with students again and can’t wait to get the school year started.

Our number one focus this year is student achievement and engagement. We will continue with our school-wide balanced literacy program which allows us to individualize and personalize the Literacy curriculum for your child. We are also excited to work with our new math curriculum. We are dedicated to providing every student with a safe, nurturing, and positive learning environment. Our expectations and goals for all students are high. Together, as a team, we will work to help all students achieve.

Attendance will be another important focus for the year. We want to make sure students are here daily and on time. Please work with your child and teacher to make sure he/she is here and ready to learn each day. By keeping absences and tardies low, students are able to be a part of the learning process daily and not miss out on instructional time.

As you prepare for the new school year, please plan to take time to get to know your child’s teachers and be involved in school activities. These relationships provide great support for your child and reinforce the importance of school. You are also invited to join the PTO and support the students and staff of Dr. C.T. Vivian. We appreciate your help in any way.
