5th Grade Bilingual

Hello and welcome to my classroom!  My name is Mrs. Wiraatmaja and I teach 5th grade dual language here at Annie Jo Gordon Community Learning Center.  This year, you are trusting me with a very important job and that is to help prepare your child for sixth grade and beyond.  I am a mother myself so I know how hard it can sometimes be to trust a child into the daily care of someone you don’t know very well.  Because of this, I want to take this opportunity to introduce myself and let you know what my mission is here at Annie Jo Gordon.

This is my 9th year here at Annie Jo Gordon and I have come to think of it as a home away from home.  In the time I have been at Harrison, we have gone from a K-8 building to a K-6 building and back.  I have gotten married, started a family with my husband, and taught 4th and 5th grades.  Throughout this time, I have been supported and encouraged by the students, parents, staff, and administration of Annie Jo Gordon Community Learning Center. My hope is that I can take all the support I have received in my time here at Harrison and pass it on to our students.

My mission here at Annie Jo Gordon is to help students is to help students learn the skills they need in order to be successful throughout their education.  I believe that through hard work all students can live up to their true potential.  Each student who walks into my classroom brings a unique set of skills and talents.  I hope that I can help them develop these skills so that they can be successful adults.  I also hope to help your students develop their English and Spanish so they can be not only bilingual but also biliterate.  I love working in the dual language classroom because it gives me the opportunity to learn alongside my students.  We spend our days exploring both English and Spanish and helping each other along the way.  If you ever have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call, text, email, or stop by and talk.  My classroom is always open!
