Criminal Justice
Dr. Snow is the criminal justice teacher at the Woodruff Career & Technical Center, teaching criminal justice and corrections courses. She also works as a Community Outreach Coordinator at Northwestern University and Feinberg School of Medicine. Dr. Snow retired from the City of Peoria Police Department after serving for 28 years in various officer, detective, and command positions. She reached the rank of Assistant Chief of Police, retiring her commission in 2018. She has taught criminal justice courses for well over a decade at both Illinois Central College and Bradley University.
Dr. Snow has attended several advanced learning institutions earning an Associate’s Degree from Illinois Central College, a Bachelors's and Master’s Degree from Bradley University, and a Ph.D. from the University of Illinois. She has also graduated from the Northwestern School of Staff and Command and the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s National Academy.
Dr. Snow has received numerous awards for her work in the community, Police Department and for her educational achievements including but not limited to: Illinois Central College Outstanding Alumni, Northwestern University Kreml Leadership Award, The Prescott Bloom Leadership Award, 25 Women in Leadership Award, and two Distinguished Police Service Awards along with several academic achievement awards.
Dr. Snow has been married to Ken Snow for 24 years and together they have a son named Grant. Her family has lived for several generations in the Peoria area, with her mother graduating in 1957 from Woodruff High School. She serves in several local volunteer organizations focusing on the reduction of violence and overdose in our community.
Snow Day Assignments
Please sign into TEAMS with our class at your regularly scheduled class time. I will be on TEAMS to answer questions for the duration of the class period.
During class, you will be expected to sign onto Canvas and work on your weekly assignments.
If you do not have access to the internet; please read your text chapter and select an essay question to answer from the course objectives. You can write out the answer on paper and turn it into me upon your return to class. You will also be responsible for completing your weekly vocabulary during the Snow Day period. This assignment can also be done on paper and turned into me upon your return to class.
