Administrative Assistant
Mrs. Mayer is a graduate of Peoria Public Schools, she attended Richwoods High School and then went to ICC for two years before transferring to Illinois State University. After a semester at ISU, she chose to come back home and work full-time, not knowing what career path she wanted to take. Eventually, Mrs. Mayer returned to college earning a degree in Business Administration with a minor in Accounting. The education field has always called to her, the passion she has for children and helping them has always been present. She has volunteered with her children’s PTO’s, coached sports, and has been active in many school settings.
In 2013 she took the job of the Principal's secretary at Manual High School, she immediately felt at home back in Peoria Public Schools, the challenges of working in a school environment are constantly changing. In the 2014-2015 school year, she moved to the Woodruff Career and Technical Center, the challenges and achievements have been amazing! Mrs. Mayer has become very passionate about helping students find their own career paths and promoting opportunities in trade school education. She often says, “college isn’t for everyone” even her own path with college was a broken one. She has three children and her oldest is in his first year at Woodruff and she is excited to see where he goes. The opportunities that the Woodruff Career & Technical Center provides to students is amazing and always expanding. She loves being able to support the staff and students in any way that she can, as well as the parents.
