Bush, Brittany

Career Pathway Success Coach

Mrs. Bush has worked in education for over 15 years and has experience working with the birth - 5 age group and 11-18. She worked for PCCEO Head Start and Early Head Start as a Teacher and Parent Educator for 16 years. She went on to work in the Peoria County Juvenile Detention Center for two years. Mrs. Bush has a passion for helping children, students, and families be self-sufficient.

Mrs. Bush is a Career Pathway Success Coach at the Woodruff Career & Technical Center. She feels that it is her duty to prepare students for the workforce by helping them get internships. She does mock interviews, allows students to prepare for interviews, and reviews student resumes. She also helps students to complete resumes and college readiness on the Xello and Soft Skills High platforms. Mrs. Bush reaches out to employers in different program areas to see if they would like to partner with Woodruff by hosting a student intern.

In 2014 Mrs. Bush graduated with my Bachelor's in Child Development from Ashford University in San Diego, California. She decided to go back for her Masters and attended Eastern Illinois University and graduated in 2017. She is enrolled at Ashford University again for her Ph.D. in Philosophy of Education. She also sits on the diversity committee for the Peoria Park District’s Playhouse Museum.

Mrs. Bush feels that “everyone deserves the chance to be great.” She likes to help people realize that no matter what they have going on, they can set and achieve goals. She is a living testimony of that. Michelle Obama said it best “Success isn't about how much money you make, it's about the difference you make in people's lives.” Helping people is her number one passion.

On a personal level, she loves to spend time with her family by traveling and having movie nights. She enjoys reading books, especially autobiographies, and also loves crafting and creating new things.
