Mr. Brix was born and spent part of his childhood in Decatur, IL. He is the oldest of three and has two younger sisters. Mr. Brix has four daughters and a granddaughter. After relocating throughout central Illinois during his childhood, Mr. Brix ultimately graduated from Morton High School.
After graduation, he attended culinary school in Portland, Oregon. Mr. Brix headed back to the central Illinois area and worked as a Chef in many establishments. Lifestyles changed, and Mr. Brix decided to change his career direction. He settled in by opening a service-based window and door company. After spending years and years in the construction industry, He eventually closed his business, building homes, remodeling, and flipping properties. Mr. Brix decided to take a less hands-on approach and focus on educating high school students in the trades.
Mr. Brix is determined and passionate about helping today’s youth, who may not excel or enjoy ‘book learning.” He is conscious about spending his time educating students and exploring all of these students' trade options, opening up a world of self-reliance and self-worth.
Mr. Brix is also a representative for the Teacher’s Union. He can be found at most Union activities and spend his summers attending educational seminars and classes to help mentor new teachers.
