Snow Day: Pick Three

(Reading Edition)

Directions: Students need to read for 20 minutes each night. Then complete THREE activities from the nine each day.

Read a new book. Respond by writing the story elements: setting, characters, problem, & solution.
Read a book on MyOn or Storyline. Write about the main idea of the story.
Read out loud to someone. Ask them questions about the story. Have them give you the answers.
Write a summary of what you did on the snow day. Use sequence of events. Tell what happened in the morning, afternoon, & night. Write at least five sentences.
Write three words for each consonant diagraph: sh, th, ch, wh, ph, & ng
Complete a Language Arts activity using this website

Set a timer & write down all the words you see around the house. Count up how many you can write in a minute. Try to beat your score each time.
Practice your reading/phonics skills on Freckle.
Choose five verbs and write a story with them.

At five different times during the day, write down the time and record what you are doing.
Practice your math skills on Zearn.
Set a timer. See how high you can count out loud in 1 minute. Next, try by 2s, 5s, or 10s.
Create a word problem using addition & then show the solution.
Come up with 20 complete math sentences.
- Example
  - 3 + 5 = 8
  - 15 – 10 = 5
Create a word problem using subtraction & then show the solution.
Practice your math skills on Prodigy or Freckle.
Build a snowman, a fort or a tower of blocks. Try to measure how tall it is. Build it again & see if you can get it taller.
