Dear First Grade and Kindergarten Families,

I would like to welcome you and your child to our first grade and kindergarten distance classroom!  My name is Lisa Blair, and I am very excited to work with your child this year.  I taught first grade for 16 years and most recently I have been the interventionist at Dr. Maude A Sanders Primary School for the past three years.   Although I have taught first through fourth grade levels throughout my career, my first love is teaching kindergarten and first grade children.  I am going to do my best to make your child’s school year an educationally rewarding and fulfilling year.

Since I am teaching both first grade and kindergarten students in the distance learning program, our schedule will look a little different than your child's previous distance schedule.  Although the schedule is still being created, I want to meet with both first and kindergarten students each day.  We will start with a whole group meeting for first grade reading and a whole group meeting for kindergarten reading in the morning.  In the afternoon I will also have separate math meetings for both classes.  Small group meetings will be added to the schedule and may need to be alternated throughout the week, but I will inform you when the schedule changes.

First grade and kindergarten are important years in school, as they are the foundation for all learning that will be taught. I will do my best to make this a year of positive growth for all.  Thank you in advance for your support and cooperation.  I look forward to being partners with you in the education of your child.
